Wellness

Wellness can have a different meaning depending on the context you find it in. Wellness in a purely medicinal sense means the overall state or health of your body. Wellness in an alternative medicine sense means the state or health of your body, mind, and spirit. There are many different ways to promote your own personal wellness, whether you are looking at it from the stance of science or alternative medicine. Wellness can be just one way of measuring how well you take care of yourself and your life.

The first consideration for increased wellness is your current addictions. Cigarettes and alcohol can both decrease wellness, not only for yourself, but for your family and friends. Giving up cigarettes and quitting alcohol can drastically increase your health and wellness. The second consideration for wellness is your diet. You do not have to go on some special diet to promote wellness, but your diet should be balanced and contain all the nutrients and vitamins you need without an excess of fat or sugar. A third element of health and wellness is your daily or weekly exercise regiment. There are many different types of exercises, and most of them you can do in the privacy of your own home. Most doctors recommend exercising three times per day, elevating your heart rate for at least twenty straight minutes.
