Protein Bars

Protein bars are a form of energy bars. Protein bars are primarily consumed by athletes who need the burst of energy a protein bar can provide. Protein bars tend to be made from soy and can pack quite a wallop of energy in a small, compact bar. Protein bars are often flavored to resemble muffins or cakes so they’re easier to eat.

Protein bars work different from energy drinks, and thus, the burst of energy is not accompanied with a crash. One of the main sources of energy in an energy drink is caffeine or other stimulants. This makes the body burn fuel faster, but the fuel is not replenished—hence, the “crashing”. Protein bars do not work on the same principle. They do not require the use of caffeine or stimulants to burn the energy, and so energy lasts for longer periods of time.

Protein bars are not just suitable for athletes, though. Protein bars can be convenient meals for anybody who needs a boost of energy, but doesn’t have time to sit down and have a proper breakfast or lunch. Protein bars are also popular with low-carbohydrate dieters. Protein bars are also generally very high in calories and even fiber. As a result, protein bars should be consumed in moderation.
