Bodybuilding supplements

Bodybuilding supplements general are items that are high in protein, such as protein shakes, protein bars, and protein supplements. Bodybuilding supplements are popular among bodybuilders and weight trai, but bodybuilding supplements are also used among people who are more casual dieters and exercisers. The logic behind using bodybuilding supplements is simple. The body uses protein to build muscles, therefore, an increase in protein by way of bodybuilding supplements will lead to an increase in muscle mass. While this is considered common knowledge in certain areas, and some bodybuilders do swear by bodybuilding supplements, the science doesn't bear this assumption out.

Most critics of bodybuilding supplements argue that the extra protein found in bodybuilding supplements does not go to increasing muscle mass at all. Excess protein is either used for energy, converted to use for energy later, or excreted. Despite these claims against bodybuilding supplements, the bodybuilding supplement industry continues to grow and gain in popularity. Protein powders and shakes are especially popular, and are usually consumed directly after working out, in lieu of a meal. Bodybuilding supplements should not be taken in excess, because too much of anything can be very bad for the body.
